How to Clean a Fountain Pen with a Converter

June 1, 2013 by wonderpens 1 Comment

If you have a fountain pen that takes a cartridge or converter, and you have the converter for it, this is the post for you on how to keep it clean. This includes pens like the Lamy Safari with the Lamy converter or the Jinhao 126 that is used in the demonstration. What you will need: … [Read more…]

Noodler’s Army Green Ink Review

May 31, 2013 by wonderpens Leave a Comment

Someone e-mailed and asked if we had the new or the old Noodler’s Army Green – and actually suggested we could do a review on it, since there seem to be two different versions of the same ink. It’s about to rain where we are here in Toronto – and the dark, gloomy clouds make … [Read more…]

New in Store

May 26, 2013 by wonderpens 1 Comment

This has been a pretty busy week for us in new products – taking pictures, getting them up on the site, and having a good go at them ourselves. We got an order in from Noodler’s, including new ink colours: Black Dark Matter Walnut Eel Gruene Cactus X-Feather Black Swan in Australian Roses I know … [Read more…]

Noodler’s Nib Creaper Flex Fountain Pen Review

May 25, 2013 by wonderpens 1 Comment

We are pretty excited to get our Noodler’s Pens in because they’re our first flex nibs! We have the Noodler’s Nib Creaper, sometimes called their Standard Flex Fountain Pen. Noodler’s Ink has really changed how people use and think of fountain pens – first creating much more affordably priced inks in a whole range of bold, vivid colours. … [Read more…]

Sailor Jentle Black Ink Review

May 22, 2013 by wonderpens Leave a Comment

Sailor is one of my favourite ink brands, and while some of their inks are known in particular for beautiful shading and a sheen, the Jentle Black is a great ink for your everyday writing. The review was done on Rhodia 80gsm paper, with an eyedropper Serwex 101 with a flex nib – one of my … [Read more…]

I always thought I was a dog person until we got Chicken, our shop cat. He is everything a cat is known for: by turns aloof, affectionate, unimpressed, playful, willfully ill behaved, sweet, demanding, obnoxious, hungry, picky, and completely unknowable. He has been disdainfully educating me on what it means to be a cat person, harasses the dog regularly, and remains the most popular member of our shop team.

Cat lovers rejoice: with me, you can now ponder all of life’s mysteries and questions with feline advice. from a tarot deck of the ultimate in cat characters. Who else could truly understand and direct a cat person’s life but a cat?

A surprise appearance by a few of these beauties: the Lamy 2000 Bauhaus in a dark, elegant blue makrolon. This is a numbered limited edition, and comes in a gift box with a thick, hard bound notebook. Our first batch went so fast we didn’t have time to post it, and so we’re glad to receive just a few more.

My analogue system for 2020:
1) Hobonichi Techo Avec (daily pocket notebook)
2) Traveler’s Notebook for work/organizing
3) Traveler’s Notebook for journaling/personal
4) Midori 3-year Diary for a few lines a day
5) Superior Labor Pen and Wallet Case

More details on the blog (link in profile), but this has been a tweak of previous years, which it seems I’m always doing. I’m most looking forward to seeing how the Techo will fit into daily life, to jot down lists, ideas, things to remember, in a looser, more disposable way, in the structure of a page-a-day, which may/will also help me look back when needed.
Anyone else have their 2020 system organized?
