Tokyo’s Book District, A Visit to Jinbocho

July 13, 2019 by wonderpens 8 Comments

Near Chiyoda-Ku is the Jinbocho Book Town, so called because its streets are a maze of used and new bookstores, mostly in Japanese, but a little smattering of English here and there. They seem to be mostly used bookshops, smaller ones with shelves to the ceilings, but there are a number of larger, multi-floor, new … [Read more…]

A surprise appearance by a few of these beauties: the Lamy 2000 Bauhaus in a dark, elegant blue makrolon. This is a numbered limited edition, and comes in a gift box with a thick, hard bound notebook. Our first batch went so fast we didn’t have time to post it, and so we’re glad to receive just a few more.

My analogue system for 2020:
1) Hobonichi Techo Avec (daily pocket notebook)
2) Traveler’s Notebook for work/organizing
3) Traveler’s Notebook for journaling/personal
4) Midori 3-year Diary for a few lines a day
5) Superior Labor Pen and Wallet Case

More details on the blog (link in profile), but this has been a tweak of previous years, which it seems I’m always doing. I’m most looking forward to seeing how the Techo will fit into daily life, to jot down lists, ideas, things to remember, in a looser, more disposable way, in the structure of a page-a-day, which may/will also help me look back when needed.
Anyone else have their 2020 system organized?

Back in stock, our super popular Art Oracles cards. Perfect for journaling, party games, or a gift for a creative soul in your life. On thick cards with beautiful illustrations of these artists, architects and inventors, each card offers funny, cryptic, and soul-changing life advice from “if no group will have you, start your own” to “there’s more than one way to read a map.”
