Price Increases – Noodler’s, Private Reserve, Diamine

More unfortunate news!

I know it has not been so long since we announced our last set of price increases for Kaweco & TWSBI, but unfortunately, the time has come for some more. The good news is that this should be the last of the price increases for a while.

The changing dollar has made it very difficult for us to keep pace with our US friends. We have held off raising too many of our prices because the dollar values fluctuate, but it doesn’t look too promising for the near future.

Noodler’s:

Some of you may have noticed that we often charge the same ‘price’ for many products, including Noodler’s. However, if you purchase a bottle of Noodler’s from the US, you are actually paying $12.50, which would be $13.80 Canadian (the CAD has been sitting at 1.10 for the last little while). Unfortunately, we cannot maintain dollar for dollar par with USD indefinitely.

Noodler’s Ink – from $12.50 to $13.75
Noodler’s Nib Creaper – from $14.00 to $15.25
Noodler’s Ahab & Konrad – from $20.00 to $21.50

Private Reserve will actually be announcing their own price increase, which we’re not yet sure about. Their bottles have increased in size from 50mL to 66mL. We’ll be increasing our prices as well when they give the go-ahead (and let us know what the price increase will be). We will be selling these larger bottles at $8.80 until the price increase with Noodler’s & Diamine.

Private Reserve – from $8.80 to …?

Diamine is actually distributed from within Canada. Our distributor has raised the prices as of April 1st. This is due to rising freight costs in shipping from the UK.

Diamine 80mL Bottles – from $13.00 to $14.00
Diamine Registrar’s Ink – from $14.00 to $15.00

Price increases will go into effect on April 17th, so if you are thinking about one of these inks, now is a good time! We just got a shipment of Noodler’s ink and Private Reserve, both of which should be going into inventory within the next day or two. We are expecting more inks to be coming soon, but unfortunately, if we’re out of stock on something before April 17th, our prices will still rise. We’re trying our best to make sure all of our regular inventory is available for you to purchase at the lower price before the increase.

We try to keep our prices as competitive as possible, and it’s always much easier with distributors from Canada, rather than importing from the US. We dislike international shipping costs as much as you do! We’re sorry that we’ve had to do this, but unfortunately, we’re also facing some rising freight costs importing from the US, in addition to the dollar.

We do hope that you’ll continue to support us! Please don’t hesitate to drop us a line if you have any other questions about what’s going on – info@ wonderpens.ca

no worries! I prefer to order from within Canada whenever possible, even if it seems a little pricier because customs often adds to costs on orders from the US and slows down delivery too! I am willing to pay a bit extra to keep a Canadian in business and get my orders promptly (which you have!)
