Scriptus, Postscript: the Pen Show Ink, Diamine Rushbrooke Blue

November 14, 2019 by wonderpens 2 Comments

Scriptus is well and done for the year, but bear with me as I just share this last post on the Scriptus show ink, Diamine Rushbrooke Blue. The ink got its name from Philip, the show organizer’s, street in Toronto. Who am I to play favourites among show inks, but this is a gorgeous, medium … [Read more…]

Scriptus 2019, Part II: Bringing Your Kids to the Pen Show

November 12, 2019 by wonderpens Leave a Comment

Every year we’ve brought Caleb, and after she was born, Naomi, to the pen show. It’s always been hairy, and I feel like it’s probably going to get hairier before it gets…less hairy. Hairless? In any case, I’m looking forward to the day when I can send Caleb to go pick up lunch, bumping my … [Read more…]

Scriptus Recap, Part I: Pens and Things

November 9, 2019 by wonderpens 2 Comments

We survived the show! Of course we did. But it was a fabulous show and a great day. It all seems a blur, not least reason of which is because I’ve delayed now almost two weeks to getting started on this. The Main Shop was also open, so our team was cleaved in two, with … [Read more…]

Traveler’s Notebook 2020 and Meet-Up: Saturday, November 23, 2-4pm

November 7, 2019 by wonderpens Leave a Comment

The Traveler’s Notebook 2020 items are here, and are already flying off the shelves. In fact, many items went straight out of the boxes into smaller boxes for Canada Post or onto our holds shelf for people picking them up in store. It’s a crazy thing when I think back to our first days carrying … [Read more…]

Happy Halloween

November 2, 2019 by wonderpens Leave a Comment

In case you missed it, Thursday was Halloween. I sometimes feel like I can hardly keep up with all these festive holidays and all their corollary activities: going to the pumpkin patch, carving the pumpkins, getting costumes, buying candy for trick or treaters. The kids are only young once, though, and so we are embracing … [Read more…]

A surprise appearance by a few of these beauties: the Lamy 2000 Bauhaus in a dark, elegant blue makrolon. This is a numbered limited edition, and comes in a gift box with a thick, hard bound notebook. Our first batch went so fast we didn’t have time to post it, and so we’re glad to receive just a few more.

My analogue system for 2020:
1) Hobonichi Techo Avec (daily pocket notebook)
2) Traveler’s Notebook for work/organizing
3) Traveler’s Notebook for journaling/personal
4) Midori 3-year Diary for a few lines a day
5) Superior Labor Pen and Wallet Case

More details on the blog (link in profile), but this has been a tweak of previous years, which it seems I’m always doing. I’m most looking forward to seeing how the Techo will fit into daily life, to jot down lists, ideas, things to remember, in a looser, more disposable way, in the structure of a page-a-day, which may/will also help me look back when needed.
Anyone else have their 2020 system organized?

On thick cards with beautiful illustrations of these artists, architects and inventors, each card offers funny, cryptic, and soul-changing life advice from “if no group will have you, start your own” to “there’s more than one way to read a map.”
